Kajal Odedra, UK Director of Change.org tells the stories of the real heroes of society – ordinary people turning their differences into their superpower, and changing the world. Kajal is UK Director at Change.org, the world’s largest online petition website with 200 million users worldwide and over 15 million in the UK. The platform has supported some of the biggest people powered campaigns in the UK – from Laura Coryton’s campaign to end the tampon tax to Richard Ratcliffe’s fight to free his wife Nazanin from prison in Iran. Kajal has worked in the campaigns and tech sector for over 10 years, is an advisor for the women in STEM group Ada’s List and founded the People of Colour initiative. In her spare time, she loves to write and is currently working on a novel. A self-confessed bookworm, she’s attempting to read one book a week this year. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at https://www.ted.com/tedx
