I’m excited to welcome you to TEDxLondon Countdown – our first event focusing on ideas and speakers addressing the climate crisis. We’re bringing our unique, intersectional lens to climate solutions, actions and ideas. All designed to empower and inspire you this evening.
We’re so proud to be one of 12 cities around the world to be chosen to host a TED Countdown Anchor event – part of TED’s wider programme of work championing and accelerating solutions to the climate crisis. You can find out more about Countdown and the anchor events at countdown.ted.com.
Let’s create a better future, together.

CLIMATE CURIOUS LIVE
We’re recording a Halloween special of the Climate Curious podcast with renowned disease detective, Neil Vora.
Housmans will be joining us to sell a selection of books, including some by our speakers and climate bestsellers.
Our thanks go to Simone Giampalo for letting us show: Only A Child, a visual poem created by over 20 animation directors under the artistic supervision of Simone Giampaolo. The short film gives shape and colour to the original words spoken by Severn Cullis-Suzuki at the UN Summit in Rio in 1992, a child’s desperate call to action for the future of our planet.

Tonight, we welcome Neil Vora to Climate Curious to explain why ‘The Last of Us’ scenario isn’t as far-fetched as it sounds. Thanks to our warming petri dish of a planet, a fungal horror show might be on the cards…
Climate Curious by TEDxLondon is the UK’s #1 earth sciences podcast, igniting light-bulb moments for people who struggle with the climate conversation being confusing, scary or boring.

TEDxLondon exists to find and platform ideas and people that make the world better. Led by three major themes – gender, climate and futures – we seek out speakers whose ideas might otherwise not have easily been heard. The talks we host on stage and online set the agenda; other formats such as our Climate Curious podcast and curated dinners amplify the impact of these ideas, helping them spread around the world.
