Speaker Scout & Applications Manager
With a background in applied ethology, international development and education, Ashleigh brings her passion for science and learning to the speaker curation team. She has particular interests in the intersections between animal welfare and human development, and the role of education in both. Alongside working as a scientific advisor for an international animal welfare NGO, Ashleigh is a trustee for two wildlife and conservation charities, a writer on animal welfare science, and mentors young people in academic and career mentorship programmes. She also has interests in supporting human healthcare improvement through her role as a lay advisor for the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh and the Academy of Medical Royal Colleges in London. Ashleigh has worked or travelled in more than 75 countries (so far…) and loves learning more about the world - and how we can work together to make it a better place - from fellow global citizens!
