Nyneisha is a third-year medical student at the University of Cambridge and her passion lies in the intersection between storytelling and craft. She was taught crochet by her great-grandmother who showed Nyneisha that handmade objects are vessels of memory and connection. Her grandmother’s lessons taught Nyneisha that legacy is not only preserved through words, but through the things we make and share. Alongside her studies, Nyneisha crochets to raise awareness of how creativity can foster healing and bring people together. Outside of medicine, you’ll find Nyneisha trying out new crafts like knitting, training for a half marathon, reading or planning her next trip.
