Darren Schreiber (he/him)

Senior Lecturer

Having worked as a lawyer in the US, Darren specialised in federal litigation and had his first federal jury trial at the age of 23. While studying for his PhD in Political Science at the University of California, he pioneered the field of neuropolitics with the first use of fMRI (functional magnetic resonance imaging) to investigate patterns that occur in the brain when people make decisions. He is currently a Senior Lecturer in Politics at the University of Exeter and has worked at a number of prestigious institutions around the world. Darren attributes his achievements to his curious nature and claims that as a child, every encyclopedia volume at home made its way to his bedroom. He challenges himself to learn one new skill a year – most recently rock climbing, Hungarian and scuba diving.
