Peter Apps is a global affairs commentator for Reuters, and also the founder and executive director of the Project for Study of the 21st Century “pop-up think tank”, which has run more than 150 events both sides of the Atlantic since January 2015. Prior to his current role, he was a reporter for the agency covering a range of topics from emerging markets to defense, with postings overseas in southern Africa and South Asia. Paralyzed from the shoulders down following a war zone car crash in 2006, he continues to travel and write widely. Of the more than 20 countries, he has reported from, over half have been since the injury. Since 2016, he has been a member of the British Army Reserve specializing in information operations and emerging forms of warfare, as well as an active member of the UK Labour Party.
