TEDxLondon’s mission is to spread ideas that spark conversation, deepen understanding and help build a just, sustainable and joyful future.

From our Climate Curious podcast to our TED style events, we provide a storytelling platform that helps people gain a better understanding of the biggest issues faced by society, and feed their desire to help create a better future. We focus on amplifying intersectional, transformative stories across three themes: imagining new futures, accelerating justice and equity and inspiring meaningful climate action. These stories take different forms, from viral online TED talks to our chart-topping podcast, but they are all united in bringing people together and creating a new narrative for our future.

Our story

6 years ago, we wanted to bring the TED experience to London. TEDxLondon began as a non-profit platform to amplify underrepresented ideas and voices.

Our aim? To capture the magic of London with its unique communities and histories that spark innovative ideas and share important stories. We wanted to share ideas that could create real change.

We became a hotspot for sharing ideas and creating impactful events. At TEDxLondon Beyond Borders we reimagined what a just, innovative and prosperous future looked like. We launched TEDxLondonWomen in 2019, where we created a safe and inclusive space to explore the intersections of gender. And we dove into addressing the climate crisis through our podcast, Climate Curious in 2020 and event, TEDxLondon Countdown in 2023.

The impact was far greater than we could have ever imagined: with over 135 talks and 22.4 million video views.  We saw how we could make real change.

So, what’s next? We’ve realised that being uncompromising about our values is not only central to what we do, but also gives us hope to create a better London and a better world. We remain deeply committed to embedding justice and equity across everything we do. We recognize the magnitude of the challenges we face cannot be addressed by staying in silos or separated communities. That’s why since 2025, we’ve brought our communities together to unleash the transformational power of ideas and stories.

About TEDx

In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TED Talks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized. (Subject to certain rules and regulations.)

About TED

TED is a nonprofit organization devoted to Ideas Worth Spreading. Started as a four-day conference in California 30 years ago, TED has grown to support its mission with multiple initiatives. The two annual TED Conferences invite the world’s leading thinkers and doers to speak for 18 minutes or less. Many of these talks are then made available, free, at TED.com. The annual TED Conference takes place each spring in Vancouver, British Columbia. TED’s media initiatives include TED.com, where new TED Talks are posted daily; TED Translators, which provides subtitles and interactive transcripts as well as translations from volunteers worldwide; the educational initiative TED-Ed. TED has established The Audacious Project that takes a collaborative approach to funding ideas with the potential to create change at thrilling scale; TEDx, which supports individuals or groups in hosting local, self- organized TED-style events around the world, and the TED Fellows program, helping world-changing innovators from around the globe to amplify the impact of their remarkable projects and activities.
